The Roaring Fork River flowing into the Devil’s Punchbowl

Aspen, CO – Rocky Area

The Devil’s Punchbowl, a popular cliff jumping spot, is a section of large rocks where water pools along the Roaring Fork River near Independence Pass just past mile marker 50 on Independence Pass Road (HWY 82).

spent many a day in the sun, jumping in that freezing water… then laying on the warm rocks with the sun beating down, orange sunshine… beautiful, naked young women playing with us jumping off the cliffs, then relaxing on those warm rocks in the woods. that was 1971. i lived in a cabin up lincoln gulch with my girlfriend kim. cheesies pizza?j
