East Elk Creek Trail #1841, also called Centennial Trail, is an intermediate/moderate trail you can hike, run, and horseback ride that is dog friendly. This is a 5 mile dirt trail near New Castle, CO.
To get to the trailhead from New Castle, take 7th Street/Midland Avenue and follow it left to Buford Road (CR 245). In 1.2 miles take the right branch of the Y onto East Elk Road (CR 241). In 4.3 miles there is a parking lot on the left. Be careful, the East Elk Road (CR 241) becomes progressively more primitive as you travel up to the parking area and trailhead.
