Nestled between Highway 82 and Two Rivers Road exists a unique place comprising wetland, riparian, and pond habitat. over 80% of wildlife depends on this type of ecosystem, even though less than 1% of Colorado is riparian habitat.
These habitats are part of the Emma Open Space, 74 acres preserved for agriculture and wildlife purposes. Here deer and elk migrate between the Basalt State Wildlife Area and Light Hill public lands.”
