To get to the trailhead from Carbondale, drive up Prince Creek Road (CR 111). The road is plowed for the first 2.8 miles off Highway 133 to Handy Drive. The road is unplowed for the next 0.3 miles to the Monte Carlo Trail trailhead found to the east of the cattle guard. Variations and other entrances to the Monte Carlo Trail can be found along Prince Creek Road as well.
