Nancy’s Path is a difficult trail you can hike and run. This is a 1.6 mile rocky trail in the Emma area of Basalt, CO. This trail passes through active agricultural operations. Dogs are not allowed on this trail.
To get to the trailhead from Downtown Basalt, head down valley on Highway 82. In 1.5 miles there will be an old brick building on the right and a small old white building (Emma Schoolhouse) on the left of the highway. Turn left off the highway to Emma. Immediately at the fork turn right. Take Emma Road for 1 mile to the bend and the sign that says Happy Day Ranch. Turn left onto the dirt private drive. Just up ahead is a red roof barn at the 4 way intersection. Turn right at the barn and just behind the barn is a small parking area and the trailhead.

This is a public trail with a specific parking area. The trail is on an easement with Pitkin County. Here’s an article in the Aspen Times with some of the history. https://www.aspentimes.com/news/on-the-trail-finally-nancys-path/
Hello. As the owner of the land with Nancy’s path we have always welcomed hikers and to my knowledge no one has ever been towed if parked in the proper marked parking area. Is it possible you parked on some other land. Ours is not posted so I think you were not in the Nancy’s path area. Thanks
