Went today with my mountain bike and the sign said no mountain biking. Plus this trail is almost 100% uphill until the top so it would have been miserable to climb on a bike. We hiked instead and it was beautiful but this is definitely not a mtb trail. Great hike and no one else on the trail!
The real overlook is just past the “Fryingpan Overlook” labeled 2 miles on the sign. Go past the stone bench tree (a little over the 2 mile mark) and continue for less than half a mile until you come to power lines. Follow them left toward the shack and continue until you reach the ledge. It’s stunning!
