The South Canyon Hot Springs, also known as Hippy Hot Springs, are a natural hot spring just west of Glenwood Springs in the South Canyon.
To get to the hot springs from Glenwood Springs, travel west on Highway 70 and take Exit 111. After you exit, take the first left at the stop sign onto South Canyon Creek Road (CR 134). Man I usually love hot springs, and this one is perfectly on my way when I travel to and from my hometown a few times a year… however the two times I’ve been there were so sketchy that I won’t be going back. First time i went, my gf and I soaked around 9pm, and then drove about 100 feet from the parking area to get ready to leave. My gf was out of the truck, while I was inside of it. That’s when some sketchy Spanish speaking guy about 5’ 7” driving a silver truck with a topper drove… Read more »
Been here to this place of wonder” Every time we go it changes in temp and surroundings. It’s got another hot spring next to it as someone dug a hot mud hole? A chemist would be nice to test the mud” Do it out of love and selflessness!!! Realize Angel’s around. This hotspot I have spent many 3:30 in the morning nights have been undisturbed and left as a gift of free.. The waters have healing qualities that can’t be matched. Sandy bottoms as of 1/19 and pleasant experiences everytime even the times of questioning. Lol. Naked or ruff n… Read more »
Is this the same place called the ” hippy dip” in the 1970s. We had a good time there !
Well my wife and I are young and wanted to skinny dip, when we arrived at ten we heard a group up at the springs which relieved us, as we went up the young group was coming down without a dip in the springs, we arrived and found two old gentlmean nude aND first thing they asked was if my wife was going to undress as they were nude, I don’t recommend especially when two old guys nude together are scaring off the fun times
Tried to find this spring at night. Spent an hour traipsing through the underbrush, up and down the hill. Got muddy and cold for my trouble. Do not recommend trying this at night or in cold weather.
Your effort will be worth the cold, if you are brave and seek the spring
Have you gone recently? I know they closed it during the corona shut down. Thanks
